Praying to God & Connecting With Ancestors

It’s important for The Creator to be at the centre of your relationship/connection with your Ancestors so that your lineage/Ancestral homestead doesn’t bypass the laws of life and creation that are formed from God’s will and motion. There are some issues that Ancestors and their descendants shouldn’t be trying to rectify and resolve themselves; they should instead be working together in petitioning to God for the resolve needed.

Ascended Ancestors breathe and move to the Creator’s laws. It is those who have not yet fully ascended that tend to call for their descendants to put their hands where they shouldn’t – be aware and careful of this.

The ‘gods’ are, because of GOD.

Amakhosi are, because of INKOSI.

Badimo are, because of MODIMO.

In all you do with, and for, your lineage, together you should all consult with the Most High that rules and inspires all.

Some people/tribes end up doing rituals that don’t hold any weight because they are moving to a power that they imagine they have, neglecting and overlooking the power that truly gives power AND permission.

The power and intention of any Ancestral homestead only works when that tribe exists in a state of constant remembrance of the source (which can manifest in different ways across cultures). Intention is futile without the Most High. In all realms we need God.

Pray. Still. And inspire your Ancestors, many of whom are still ascending, to do the same. Some of them need to remember God through you because the journey on the other side has its complexities too.

On the other hand, praying doesn’t substitute the importance of ukuphahla/communicating with your Ancestors directly. If you have an issue with someone that you want to solve, would you go to your God about the issue or would you go and speak to that person?

You would most likely go and speak to said person right? That’s the same principle to hold with your Ancestors. If you never talk to them directly about your life and only ever pray to God, you are not seeing your lineage and that causes your connection with them to be poor.

In your engagements with Spirits, be logical. The effort we make with our human relationships is similar to the effort required with them. Some people say “I don’t connect with my Ancestors, but I do pray.” – that’s not one in the same thing. While your Ancestors are certainly not above God, they do have their own space for you to connect with them.

If you want to see your friend,  for example, you’ll go to their house. That’s the same principle to apply with your Ancestors. Do not overlook the importance of recognising them wholeheartedly. Together you are a manifestation of God’s divine will.
