Whether or not you consider yourself to be an artist, you are creative. Everyone is. Claiming and owning creativity is crucial because it’s the very language of life. You need your creative mind to navigate life and yourself; God and your Ancestors reach out to your creative mind to connect with you.
Getting in touch with your creative side is also important because that enables you to come up with solutions. A block in creativity causes your outlook on life to be limited and you will be more prone to being stuck when facing problems. When one says they are “solution-oriented” what that really means is that they are creative.
To connect with your creativity holistically so that you manifest and create what you want, it may be necessary and useful to look into what may be limiting the energy of your creativity. All that you need is already within you and you can connect with your potential even more by becoming aware of the varying factors that affect your ability to create.
Ancestral Influence
Part of what influences our creative conflicts AND blessings is the lineage that we are born from and connected to. Ancestral patterns and history go on to become your reality in this lifetime too, so it is worth engaging with your guiding Ancestors on what it is that may have suppressed and threatened their creativity to get insight on how that may be playing out in your creative life. You can also engage with them on what has blessed and watered the creativity that is in your lineage to see where your opportunities to thrive and expand beautifully are.
Inner Work
Your attempt to connect with your creative desires may require you to do some internal pruning – analysing, releasing and clearing away what may be an interruption to your creative energy and reviewing what you may be manifesting from an insecure place. Sometimes our creative desires are masked by worldly and/or traumatic conditioning (even the seemingly good desires) and do not necessarily align with our essence. Allow yourself to take a good and honest look at what is really motivating your creative wishes – which of the desires are your own and which of them have been imposed on you by others or life circumstances?
Spiritual Support
Sometimes we forget that God and our guiding Ancestors can support us through any area of our lives and every single part of ourselves. See where it is that you may be leaving God and your Ancestors out of your creative life. Remember, you inherited some of your creativity from your Ancestral lineage and you can be assured that they have a deep will and capacity to guide your creative hand. They have the eyes & wisdom on how you can apply your creative ideas more favourably for yourself in this lifetime, and how you can use them favourably for the ongoing evolution of your lineage at large so that it blesses the creative hands of future generations too. (You should care about holding space for future generations because in your next life, you WILL still need to collaborate with them. Your soul’s journey doesn’t end in this lifetime.)
Consider, as well, where it is that your creative collaboration with God is still shakey, or perhaps even non-existent. Pray for insight and enlightenment that will help you work (and play) more wholesomely with God’s Will when it comes to your creative ability.
Engagement Process
You can have this engagement on your creativity with yourself, God and Ancestral guides in whichever way resonates with you, as long as your energy is focused on the set intention and you invite your spiritual guardians into the reflection with your heart. Pray about it all, phahla/connect with your Ancestors about it and have still meditations on it. The reflection can extend into play, journaling and other activities that free your mind.
Having all of this engagement with your lineage and God may point you to areas of your personal life that are riddled with pains and conflict. Don’t be disheartened or confused by this, it is relevant because your pains and conflict do go on to affect your creativity too. But remember, this internal work is not about drowning yourself in pain and discomfort, it is about bringing light to what you may not be seeing so that you can raise the vibration of your talent and skills. Show up for it with BALANCE and tune into being an OBSERVER. The ultimate purpose is for you to make way for a fulfilling and grounded creative journey. Let the process and its honesty bless you.
