You pray more times than you think.
More times than you bow down on your knees or raise your hands. More times than you close your eyes or look to the heavens. More times than when you are dressed in your Holy robes. More times than you officially say “Dear God.” More times than you officially say “Amen.”
To the One whose ears are always hearing you, eyes always watching you, and hands always open to hold you, you are received as a prayer more times than you will ever know.
This is the privilege of being God’s very own.
During the times that you can’t pray – when you have no words or little faith because you are too angry, sad, or just tired – you are still received as a prayer for salvation.
That’s why the Lord’s responses will exceed your wildest imagination – the prayer has been longer than you know. God has been working on it for longer than you ever thought.
Take note of what makes you struggle to pray – whatever prayer looks like for you – because that too is a word from God revealing what moves you away from God. You may either succumb to these factors that distance you from God, or you can acknowledge them as blocks to address and insights on what to remove from your life.
Even in your despondency to pray, God is speaking back to you and showing you a way.
Connect with the joy and ease of prayer too.
Free it from being a rigid duty.
Remember the sheer pleasure and privilege of manifesting grace
over yourself and the rest of life,
as a creator of the Creator.
